Sale of Monosem to John Deere

Founded in 1948 and owned by the Ribouleau family for three generations, Monosem Group is the European market leader in the precision planters industry. The precision farming mechanical technology consists in planting each and every single seed on an industrial scale production. This technology improves crop yield and is a key pillar of the development strategy of worldwide agricultural machinery providers. Monosem’s sales are mainly generated out of France and equipment are exported in more than 70 countries worldwide. The group has four production sites in France and two others located in the United Stated. Monosem employs 400 people. The American Group John Deere is the worldwide leader in the agricultural machinery industry, generating c. €25 billion of revenue. Strongly established in the Northern American precision planters for extensive farming market, John Deere intends through this acquisition to accelerate its development in the various precision farming equipment markets and especially in Europe.
